Yoga has been practiced over centuries and is known to have originated in India. In fact, it is said to have gained popularity during the golden age where it is said that many practiced it in search of eternal peace and prosperity. Yoga is currently practiced worldwide with a large number of followers. It has countless benefits such as improving posture, increasing resiliency and endurance, increased energy levels, increased balance, increased steadiness, improved depth perception, eye-hand coordination is improved, normalized weight, reduced blood pressure, better sleep, reduced levels of pain felt, breath holding time increases among others.

Yoga is something that can be taught by anyone
Nothing can be more misleading than the statement above. The practice of yoga involves stretching and using muscles that are rarely used, placing the body in positions that require strength and endurance and acquire poses that can be thought dangerous at first. Yoga can be taught by just anybody. A trained yoga practitioner is required to guide beginners on how to attain the various poses. Nothing can be more dangerous than letting a person with little or no knowledge of how yoga is performed teach a beginner.
Yoga is simply just an exercise
It is known that yoga brings physical satisfaction but it does not stop at that only. Regular practice of yoga enables the body and mind to unite. Getting the two to function in conjunction with one another is beneficial beyond explanation. Yoga was first a spiritual art that has evolved but it still retains its spiritual roots. Yoga aims for an individual to experience a feeling of oneness between the mind, body and spirit.
Yoga is a very expensive activity
It having spiritual roots, true yoga practitioners do not charge to teach yoga. For them it is more than enough to be able to teach someone this timeless art and to see them attain that level of joy when experiencing the felt oneness with their inner selves. These yogis do from time to time accept donations from well wishers or grateful customers, but that’s about it.
Yoga takes on various poses and has basic ones. Bowing is one of them and is amongst the common. It comes eighth in the sequence of the twelve basic yoga poses. It is done by first lying on the stomach and lifting the legs. Using your hands, grab your legs at the ankles and stretch yourself. First time beginners may find this difficult so they may use something to support them. This definition of bowing is put simply however there are advanced poses for the bow.
The health benefits of bowing include increasing strength and flexibility in the spine, relieves constipation, improves digestion and increases appetite, helps straighten hunchbacks and expands the thoracic region.
